About the Journey

Awakening in Life is a three-month online journey for those who sense that awakening is not about escaping life, but about meeting it fully, honestly, and openly.

This is a space where grief and joy are both welcome, where old patterns and tender places can be met without being made wrong, and where authenticity is allowed to grow naturally.

Rather than striving to become someone better, this journey invites the courage to be real — in the body, in relationship, and in the midst of ordinary life.

If you have questions about whether this journey is a good fit for you, you can schedule a short free conversation with Unmani. This is an opportunity for you to share any concerns you have or ask anything about the journey that is not clear for you. You can email us at contact [at] AwakeningwithUnmani [dot] com. Interested in receiving notification when this journey is up and running? Send an email with ‘Reminder 3-month Journey’ in subject line and we will let you know when it is open for registration.

About This Journey

This journey with Unmani is not about awakening as transcendence but exploring awakening in life — where grief and joy coexist, where our humanity is not an obstacle, but the very place awakening expresses itself.

Over three months, we explore how grief can open the heart rather than close it, how joy arises naturally as aliveness rather than as forced positivity, and how authenticity becomes possible when there is no longer a need to hide.

This is not a course about becoming better or more evolved. It is a space for becoming more real.

Held by Unmani

Unmani creates the energetic container that is rooted in lived experience, presence, and deep listening.

Unmani is a mother.

She has loved and lost her husband.

She lives an ordinary life — with all the tenderness, messiness, beauty, and responsibility that entails.

Her understanding of awakening is not abstract or removed from life. It has been shaped in the midst of love, grief, parenting, and the ongoing demands of being human. This gives the space she holds a groundedness and honesty that welcomes every part of experience.

Unmani’s particular flavour of holding is:

  • deeply present, compassionate, and spacious

  • playful and intimate, allowing humour, warmth, and humanity to shine

  • not guiding from above or ahead, but from within the field, holding a space where participants can soften, be real, and trust their own unfolding

Unmani’s energetic holding is the heart of the journey — the container in which this work becomes lived, embodied, and transformative.

Part One — Grief: Staying with What Is

(Weeks 1–4)

Grief, honesty, embodiment

Grief is not only about personal loss. It also arises through life transitions, the state of the world, the planet, and the parts of ourselves that were never fully welcomed.

In this journey, grief is met as love with nowhere to go, as sensitivity to life, and as a doorway into presence.

Rather than analysing grief, we learn to meet it somatically and compassionately — allowing it to feel less isolating, more connected, and live in the body without overwhelm or suppression.

Through guided meditation, ritual, journalling, somatic practices, and witnessing, grief teaches us how deeply we love, and how to live as the Love that we are.

Part Two — Joy: Letting Aliveness Move Freely

(Weeks 5–8)

Aliveness, intimacy, gratitude

Joy is often misunderstood as having to be always happy or positive. Here, we recognise joy as aliveness — feeling connected, alive, playful, and real.

True joy is a natural overflow from our true self - not a goal to achieve. It arises when we meet our experience, and allow life to move as an expression through us.

In this part of the journey, we explore:

Feeling connected and present

Living with an open heart

Spontaneity and play

Creative expression (movement, art, music, voice)

Embodied aliveness and relational joy

Joy is welcomed alongside grief, not instead of it.

Part Three — Authentic Living: Turning Ourselves Inside Out

(Weeks 9–12)

This is where awakening meets the world.

Authentic living begins when our true nature is recognised not as a final achievement, but as the ground we stand on.

When this is known as our baseline, a new kind of safety emerges — not the safety of control,
but the safety that allows us to keep growing, learning, and exploring how awakening lives through us.

Living authentically is not self-improvement. It is not about being perfect, confident, or resolved.

It is about welcoming the many small “me’s” that arise — the tender ones, the defended ones, the joyful ones, the messy ones — and recognising them not as problems, but as expressions of life itself.

As we live more honestly, old wounds and protective patterns may naturally come into view.
These are not problems to fix, but as intelligent responses shaped by life. This journey is not trauma work, yet it is trauma-informed: respectful and compassionate, allowing authenticity to unfold naturally.

Living authentically is about the courage to turn ourselves inside out, to speak and act from truth, and to allow awakening to live in our relationships, our bodies, our creativity, and our ordinary life.

We explore:

  • seeing through limiting beliefs

  • meeting thought as a tool

  • allowing ourselves to be seen in relationship

  • discovering safety in truth rather than protection

Here, messy humanity is not something to overcome.
It is sacred.

Community — Awakening in Relationship

Awakening deepens in connection, not isolation. In this journey, the group becomes a living container where presence, attention, and openness support everyone’s unfolding.

Community sharing here is different from therapeutic story-telling. It is not about recounting personal histories or trying to be understood. Instead, it is an invitation to share what is alive in your heart in the moment, to speak and listen from presence, and to be witnessed without judgment or expectation.

This creates a space where participants can:

  • Connect deeply without pressure

  • Share without needing to be perfect

  • Be witnessed in love and compassion

  • Listen and allow yourself to be touched by others

  • Explore truth together

  • Participate at whatever level feels natural — speaking, listening, or simply witnessing

The shared field becomes a practice in itself — a place where truth, presence, and connection are lived and felt, and often becomes one of the most powerful aspects of the journey.

Who This Journey Is For

This journey is for anyone who wants to live awakening in life — to meet themselves and the world more fully, honestly, and openly.

You may come with grief, or joy, or confusion, or a quiet knowing that something truer wants to be lived.

You don’t need to have experienced a specific loss. Grief here is understood as part of being awake to life — to change, love, uncertainty, and the world as it is.

This journey is for you if:

You feel drawn to live awakening in everyday life, not just in moments of insight or temporary spiritual states

You long to explore how awakening is an ongoing embodying, relational, and real journey

You want to explore truth without bypassing your humanity

You are tired of striving, fixing, or pretending to be someone you are not

You long for authenticity rather than self-improvement

You long to be part of a compassionate, honest, and down-to-earth community

You don’t need to be a certain kind of person. You don’t need to be ‘ready.’ You don’t need to know where this will lead.

This is not about becoming better. It is about becoming more real.

Continuing the Journey

For those who feel called to continue, the Love of Truth Community offers an ongoing home — where grief, joy, and authenticity continue to unfold together over time. Participation in community, retreats, or one-to-one guidance is entirely optional. This is a place where at the end of this journey, we can feel that there is an ongoing community to enable us to keep exploring and feeling the support of like-minded people, held in the energetic container that Unmani creates.

What previous participants have said:

‘I was very impressed by the clear, loving and simple way Unmani gives her message. She gave every participant all the support and understanding and push that they needed.’

‘Unmani is the best teacher for me. Her simplicity is killing me. At each intensive I lose more of what I think I am.’

‘More than any other retreat, Unmani’s intensives leave you nowhere to go but to come face to face with the truth of who you are.’

Please note that before you apply to join this Intensive, Unmani asks that you make sure that you have watched several of Unmani’s free video clips available on Youtube.
